So, I went back to old reliable and finished my floor. I only used this sander for light duty work, not to over work it. Now, I did use a much bigger sander (rented) for the initial sanding of the floors. It quit on me with 1/2 of the final floor to finish. It finally began to smoke and gave up the ghost. I air sprayed the unit to make sure nothing was trapped. I picked it up one day and the sander seemed to be working slower than normal. I cleaned the unit thoroughly, but it would not pickup any dust.
When I say it stopped working, I, mean just that.
the dust collector stopped working (a warning other owners had). It worked awesome initially in comparison to my older sander. This sander replaced a slower smaller sander I had for years. I used this sander to do hardwood floors 2 hours a day, 4 days a week for 3 weeks. I thought most folks aren't handy and don't know how this really works. Ok, I went against my better judgement after reading reviews about this product.
